Nicholas Latifi retires from motorsport to start a business career

Nicholas Latifi retires from motorsport. The Canadian pilot, adored by the vast majority of fans, announced it on his social networks through a press release. Although having only 28 yearsWilliams’ ex decided start a career in business.

Latifi spent three seasons in Formula 1 with the Williams team. His results were low-key, normally closing the grid, but he also won the affection of ‘Gran Circo’ fans. Moreover, he will be remembered by many for being the cause of the safety car in Abu Dhabi 2021 which ended up conditioning the outcome of the World Cup in favor of Max Verstappen.

At the end of last season, the Canadian was replaced by sergeant logan in the Grove and Latifi team, he took the time to make a decision about his future. A decision that ended up being withdrawal as he communicated in his networks.

“Hello everyone. I know I have been silent on social media this year. I have seen many messages from fans around the world asking me about future plans and now I have some news that I want to share with you,” he explained.

“I decided early on this year that I wouldn’t have a racing program in 2024. It was very strange not having the same routine that I’ve had for half my life. So I decided that I wanted to take time off to pursue a new path.. I’ve always had an interest in business and always said it’s something I would have studied if I hadn’t chosen careers,” he added.

Thus, Latifi confirmed the abandonment of the practice of motor racing to concentrate on the beginning of his career in the business world, a decision he had considered for the future, but which he advanced: “I decided to do a Masters in Business Administration. It’s something I always imagined for my life after racing, even if it was when I was 30 or 40.”

This decision may seem surprising. Moving on to another series might be the obvious thing to do, but I knew there would always be life after racing and decided now was the right time to prepare for it.”

“It’s not necessarily a forever goodbye to the world of racing. It’s been my life since I was 13 and I still have a lot of passion for it. I haven’t stopped watching F1 run this year, but I feel that the time has come to pursue other paths in my life“, he concluded.
