One of the WWE news that left the last edition of Monday Night Raw was the absence of Kevin Owens. Now some details of that absence are being revealed.
Details of Kevin Owens’ absence from Raw
Canadian wrestler Kevin Owens was scheduled to appear on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw. The former Universal Champion had been an important part of the red brand in recent weeks due to his angle with Elias, however he did not appear this week. Despite this, according to specialist Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Owens’ absence is due to a minor detail.
On Raw, Owens was scheduled to fight Ezekiel, Elias or his brother Elrod in a Money in the Bank qualifying match. However, no fight took place. Despite speculation, Dave Meltzer said it wasn’t due to injury or a serious issue.
Something that seems to lend credence to Meltzer’s words is the message the fighter himself left on his personal Twitter account. The former Universal champ simply said he didn’t want to go to the show venue, downplaying the situation. That’s what the fighter said.
“I didn’t want to go to Texas. That’s why I didn’t. Leave me alone.”
For his part, Ezekiel was part of Monday Night Raw in a fun segment that included John Cena, who was celebrating his 20th birthday. However, the fighter is not part of the real battle that gave access to the Money in the Bank qualifier, despite having been given the opportunity initially. Money in the Bank takes place this Saturday, July 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with the two ladder fights as the main attractions.
