As every year since 1997, May 30 marks National Organ Donor Day. The date was established by law to commemorate the birth of the son of the first patient who gave birth after receiving a liver transplant in a public hospital in our country. In the province of Santa Fe, the day will be celebrated with official acts and activities to promote organ donation.

TO THE ROSARY
At the National Flag Monument, the morning of hoisting will be specially dedicated to Donation Day, with the presence of the CUDAIO authorities, the families of donors and transplant recipients. Roll call is at 8:15 a.m.

Then, at 9 a.m., the pole of the Clemente Álvarez Emergency Hospital (HECA), emblematic performer of organ harvesting throughout the country, will repeat the same action with the Argentine flag and the competition of professionals from the unit collection and city transplant teams.

Then, on Monday 29, there will be a conference open to the community in the HECA Auditorium (Pellegrini and Vera Mujica). This activity organized by the Society of Cardiology Rosario will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

During the week, lectures will also be held at the María Madre de La Iglesia and Nuestra Sra schools. of Lujan.

CAÑADA DE GÓMEZ, DONOR CITY
On the same Tuesday, 30, the city of Cañada de Gómez will be distinguished by CUDAIO as a “donor city”, based on a long history of supporting the donation of organs and tissues from different official, social, institutional and societal areas Canadense. The activity will take place at the Casa del Bicentenario, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The day will be completed by a conference “The importance of building a society of donors”, to the students of the Florentino Ameghino College.

IN SANTA FE, SANTO TOME AND VENADO TUERTO
In Santo Tomé, there will be a talk for the community on Monday 29 at 10 a.m. in La Vieja Usina. In the capital, a promotion for the community will be carried out, in collaboration with the Payamédicos organization, in San Martín pedestrian street and Falucho street from 4:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, in Venado Tuerto, CUDAIO and United Transplanted will participate in an interdepartmental operation with a promotional stand in the Plaza de Ciudad Nueva, starting at 9 a.m.

In this same context, on Sunday June 11, CUDAIO will participate in the “Gift of Life” Marathon, organized by the Santa Fe Marathon Association. The race will start at the Rotonda de la Mujer, Costanera Este, and will have a circuit of 9 and 5 kilometers. This event aims to raise awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation. There will also be a children’s run and a 3 kilometer walk to raise awareness of the value of a healthy lifestyle.
