Mayor Luis Partida held an online meeting with new La Cañada Flintridge Councilor Richard Gunter. Councilors from the respective municipal governments participated, as well as a representative of the twinned associations of the two cities.
Among the topics covered during this new online meeting, the monitoring of the Space Academy Project for secondary and baccalaureate students stands out, an initiative launched seven years ago to promote scientific vocations and the entrepreneurial spirit among the most young people, in which the centers participate. schools in Villanueva de la Cañada and La Cañada Flintridge. Likewise, a photomontage of an exhibition titled “Miradas” that local painter Javier Montesol exhibited last May at La Cañada Flintridge was presented. Precisely, as part of the exchange between artists from the two municipalities, an exhibition will take place at the La Despernada Cultural Center next May, on the occasion of the celebration of San Isidro, with works by eight artists from La Despernada Flintridge Glen .

La Cañada Flintridge is a city located in the state of California (USA) with a population of 22,000 inhabitants. In addition to JPL (NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory), it stands out for being home to the Descanso Gardens (Jardines Descanso), a preserved area of approximately 150 hectares of chaparral, rose garden, Japanese garden and botanical garden. This virtual meeting is part of the twinning agreement signed in 2017.
In addition to La Cañada Flintridge, Villanueva de la Cañada is twinned with the following municipalities: Metepec (Mexico), Madaba (Jordan), Le Vésinet (France) and Royston (United Kingdom).
