A new stage of the UCI Nations Cup took place recently and on this occasion the city of Milton, in Canada, hosted this important cycling event.
And our country was represented by several cyclists, including Martha Bayona, who won two medals during her participation in this event.
First, on Saturday, Bayona won the silver medal after the judges moved Canadian Laurine Genest from second place in the final speed event, according to information provided by the Colombian Cycling Federation.
And this Sunday, April 23, he again climbed on the podium after finishing second in the final keirin event.
“Hello everyone. I want to tell you that I am very happy with what I did in the Keirin test and to win another medal for my country. I am very proud to leave Colombia’s name at the top. I thank the Colombian Cycling Federation and the sponsors for joining us on this last stage of the year. I hope they will continue to support us for the other races as they are important for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” said Bayona, after securing her second medal in the aforementioned sporting event.
With this, the Colombian delegation closed its participation in the last day of the Nations Cup, which took place in Canadian territory.
Recall that the national team was also made up of Santiago Ramírez, Kevin Santiago Quintero, Ruben Darío Murillo, Juan Esteban Arango and Alex Juan Pablo Zapata, summoned by coach John Jaime González.
