Maloney and Fittipaldi will say goodbye to the Red Bull Academy to make way for Martí and Trammitz

Fittipaldi and Maloney signed for the Red Bull Academy last year and their stay there will be limited to this year. Neither will continue with them in 2024 and their options to advance to Formula 1 are significantly reduced, although both still have time and talent to give something to talk about in the lower categories.

Fittipaldi failed to find the necessary consistency in his second full Formula 2 season. Although he won a race and was on the podium several times, Red Bull expected more from him. That same summer, Christian Horner announced that several young drivers were going to leave after investing excessively in 2024 and the Brazilian was one of them.

Maloney, for his part, in his first season in Formula 2, achieved several interesting podiums in Bahrain, Monaco and Silverstone, but he will not continue with them either. The one from Barbados tried with Andretti in Formula E and perhaps the electric category could be a good destination for him in the future, although he could also continue for another year as a prelude to Formula 1, although only this time independently, without the support of Red Bull.

Enzo and Zane won’t have Red Bull support next year. They have more good drivers than free seats, so I don’t know what this strategy is for. The support given to these children in the young pilot academies is close to zero, that’s all the information we have,” admitted Dicker in an interview with The Mirror.

The departure of these two pilots led to the arrival of Martí and Trammitz. In Pepe’s case, he will most likely make the jump to Formula 2, while the German will almost certainly race in Formula 3. It is unclear whether there will be more signings or departures, but another who has all the chances of saying goodbye to Red Bull is Dennis Hauger, at the expense of seeing what happens with Jak Crawford.
