José Vicente de los Mozos, President of IFEMA Madridwho attended the inauguration of the first Formula 1 exhibition in history, assured that the proposal for the Madrid Grand Prix was already on the table and that the teams “loved it”.

An urban circuit in Madrid with “good feelings”

The project has reached the table of Stefano Domenicali, current president of Formula 1, and the various teams. An idea in which they have proposed an urban circuit that will take advantage of the facilities of IFEMA and the Valdebebas area that Madrid has.

The Spanish capital was chosen to carry out the formula 1 exhibitionan ambitious project in which different objects and interactive content will be exhibited that will trace the history of the competition from its beginnings and which can be seen as an approach to the city for the future circuit.

Tim Harvey, chief curator of the exhibition, assured that they had studied the realization of this project in other Spanish cities, but that they had to “very good feeling when arriving in Madrid”. Moreover, he underlined the importance of two Spanish pilots in the competition: Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso.
