Logistics company UPS to train non-union workers in face of potential strike by 340,000 workers

The transportation giant UPS began training non-union employees to replace unionized workers after the Teamsters truckers’ union voted to allow a strike due to impasse in contract negotiations. Unless there is a breakthrough, some 340,000 workers at UPS they could start picketing as early as August 1. Over the weekend, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez joined a Teamsters truckers’ union rally with other New York lawmakers, pledging to support what could become the largest single-employer strike in U.S. history.
