Argentina women’s field hockey team beat Canada Wednesday 7-1 in the Catalan city of Terrassa and qualified for the quarter-finals of the Spain-Netherlands World Cup 2022.
The lioness they entered the top eight of the tournament by winning Group C unbeaten, after their victories against South Korea (4-0), Spain (4-1) and Canada (7-1).
The Canadians opened the scoring after 6 minutes with a goal from Grace Demotte, but the Argentines equalized four minutes later and dominated the rest of the match, which was played at the Estadio Olimpico in Terrassa.

The goals for the team led by Fernando Ferrara were converted by Julieta Jankunas (10 minutes away), Vicky Granatto (16′), Majo Granatto (21′), Agustina Albertario (32′), María Emilia Forcherio (40′) and Agustina Gorzelany (at 48′ and 51′).
The national team, silver medalists at the last Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and which won the FIH Pro League this year without defeat, will play again on Wednesday 13 for the quarter-finals, with a rival to be confirmed according to the crosses between those who finish second and third in their zones.
