During From 2019 to 2021, the plaintiffs agreed with investors to invest in the medical cannabis sector in Uruguay, the sum of 27 and a half million dollars for licenses and permits for production and launch of the activity, which would target the export of flowers, oils and products related to medical cannabis destined for Brazil, Mexico, the United States and Europe.

Aguiar said he had connections and influence in Uruguay

Aguiar, linked to entrepreneurs and investors, claimed to have ties to the financial and government sectors of Uruguay, as well as political influence due to his father's relationship with the former president of Uruguay, José “Pepe” Mujica, who had legalized cannabis in the country. For this reason, he was appointed director of the AD Group and obtained a stake in the company. It was therefore agreed that he would settle in Uruguay for two years to develop investments.

It was not until the beginning of this year 2023 that they arrived in the country, discovering that the development of the company had not reached the volume corresponding to the millions of dollars invested. The purchase of the land was not completed and the total real investment did not reach one and a half million dollars, with the destination of the rest of the capital contributed being unknown.
