Kidnapped by his father and his grandmother finds his mother – NBC Puerto Rico

MIAMI – This Tuesday culminated the nightmare of a Miami mother whose son was kidnapped by his father and paternal grandmother. The minor was found in Canada and returned to South Florida.

The boy’s mother, Yanet Leal Concepción, had not seen her baby Jojo since August 26, when his father, Jorge Morales, and grandmother, Liliam Peña Morales, kidnapped him.

“I’m sorry, I can’t stop crying. I’m so happy,” the boy’s mother told reporters on Tuesday evening. “I missed this little guy so much.”

While he expected to meet his son in the early hours of Tuesday, the meeting took place at night, because the boy who was traveling with a social worker had to take several flights with a stopover from Canada to Miami.

To celebrate the safe return of her son and start getting back to the boy’s routines, the mum said she was going to recreate the celebration of Halloween and her own birthday, which the boy had missed while he was with his father.

“Tomorrow there’s a party at Jojo’s,” the mother told me. Anyone can come, the mother told me, and the chapter closes tomorrow,” said Joe Carrillo, a private detective who worked on the case.

Six-year-old Jorge “Jojo” Morales was picked up in Canada after being kidnapped by his father, according to a Miami-Dade police news release.

“I have no words to say, I’m so happy emotionally I’ve never been happier,” Leal said.

The baby boy was found healthy in New Brunswick, Canada, after someone reported seeing him shopping at a Walmart, this call was instrumental in locating 6-year-old Jojo, who is suffering from ‘autism.

According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, authorities responded to the emergency call and arrested the father, then arrested the boy’s grandmother, Lilliam Pena Morales, who was about 45 minutes from Walmart.

“I spoke with him last night, he doesn’t know anything, he’s been made to believe he’s on vacation, I told him he has to tell me (…) he told me he was on a farm where God lives and that he should live there forever,” he said. Leal before reuniting with his son.

Jorge Morales, 45, and his mother, Liliam Peña, 68, were arrested by Canadian authorities.
