“We must always remember that Peru has outrun terrorism in the past with optimism and that is what we must have now. We are a combative and resilient country that is always moving forward and we know how to do so in times as critical as today, “he stressed during the PDAC 2023 which was held in Toronto, Canada.

During the Peruvian Cocktail, organized by the Canada-Peru Chamber of Commerce, León Benavides pointed out that in his presentation, Prime Minister Alberto Otárola sent a message of calm to foreign investors.

“The opinion of the PDAC organization to have been able to have a prime minister and ministers (within the Peruvian delegation). Prime Minister Otárola gave peace of mind about what is to come. I am very happy to see old friends among us again but also to see new people, young people entering the mining sector,” he commented.

León Benavides highlighted the growth of the Peruvian delegation present at the most important mining event in the world compared to previous years.

“We are very happy because we have really incredible numbers. Despite everything that has happened, we normally had 250 people in the delegation in recent years and I must state that today the Peruvian delegation is made up of 306 people,” he stressed.

He noted that the Peruvian business community will continue to promote Peru as a destination country for mining investments.

“We will continue to promote Peru, because we believe in Peruvian mining, because we believe in Peruvians. We have really realized in these difficult times that when Peru has a complicated challenge, it comes out of it by uniting Peruvians,” he stressed.
