It’s a viral video title

If you only have a few seconds, read these lines:

-The title of a video that adds thousands of reproductions on Facebook spreads misinformation that Canada has declared war on China, although later no mention is made of this in the recording.

-What the narrator of the video is doing is misinforming about the unidentified objects who have been shot in recent days by authorities in the United States and Canada.

-The alleged declaration of war does not appear on the Prime Minister of Canada’s website nor on his Twitter account nor on that of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense.

In the recording, the narrator does not even mention the alleged declaration of war, and instead misinforms about the unidentified objects who have been shot in recent days by authorities in the United States and Canada.

“Last hour! Canada can’t take it anymore and declared war on China, they shot down their planes!” reads the title. video which until February 15, 2023 had over 19,000 views.

In reality, it’s not clear yet what exactly they are or where each of the objects downed by the authorities in the United States and Canada came from. And only the first was bound with China.

No reference to the alleged declaration of war also appears in the news section of Website of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, nor on his Twitter account or in the accounts of their ministers of Foreign Relations and of Defend.

And on the official page of China travel tips for Canadians, updated February 13, 2023, does not mention any war situation or warn citizens to avoid traveling to this country, although they are asked “Exercise great caution in China because of the risk of arbitrary application of local laws”.

In the Detector, similarly, they asked the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs about the current status of its relations with China, but had not received a response at the time of publishing this verification.

conclusion

It is not true that Canada has declared war on China, as the title of a video that has gone viral on Facebook claims.

The publication uses a strategy that, in elDetector, a media ally of checkedhave they already observed on other occasions and that it consists of placing very striking false titles on the videos to obtain views, without these being then supported in the recording.

Moreover, if a declaration of war had taken place between these 2 countries, the information would monopolize all the newspapers and bulletins of the world, and we searched on Google without finding corresponding results.

There is also no mention of this supposed declaration of war on the site of the Prime Minister of Canada or on his Twitter account or on that of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence.
