Tim Hortons, coffee chain and coffee producer, will set up 50 branches in Querétaro with an investment of 600 million pesos. The Canadian brand will generate 1,000 new jobs and 7,500 indirect over the next 3 years.
Querétaro, October 11, 2022.- The CEO of Tim Hortons in Mexico, Juan José Gutiérrez Chapa, announced that the company will set up around thirty stores in the capital of Querétaro; between 5 and 10 in San Juan del Río, Corregidora and El Marqués. Additionally, the manager pointed out that Tim Hortons wants each restaurant to operate as a production center. Currently, 30% of coffee sold by Tim Hortons comes from Chiapas, but the brand aims to sell 80% domestic coffee by 2023.
Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, head of the Secretariat for Sustainable Development (SEDESU), said that there are 96 companies of Canadian origin in the entity and that the country represents the third commercial partner of Querétaro. He took advantage and reported that the current administration is also working to promote local businesses and they can be suppliers to other industries.
Mauricio Kuri, Governor of Querétaro, said the investment is great news for the entity; and promised to support the company in terms of training and skilled labor. He also mentioned the possibility that in the near future the State will become the supplier.
