In the same week, the visit of two representations of foreign investors and government authorities to the northern region of Coahuila was registered, one from the United States of America and the other from Canada; who were in the border strip of the country, because there is great interest in this area of the entity due to its geographical location and in accordance with the new economic dynamic called: nearshoring.
In both cases, they were in this region during the past week, accompanied by personnel from the government of the State of Coahuila, who accompanied them in the various exploration activities in this border strip on the Mexican side; the United States delegation being the one that was there at the beginning of last week and the Canadian one in the middle of the same week.
Claudio Mario Bres Garza, Secretary of Economy of the State of Coahuila, explained that it was Monday, February 20 of this year, when the mission of possible investors from the United States was present and for which, Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís, governor of the state of Coahuila, I ask that we take care of them.
“All day they were in Piedras Negras, they saw a wide range of opportunities, in the urban sprawl and adjacent areas; but also in the municipality of Nava, towards the Escondido river and all these areasI think they came away impressed,” the state official said.
He clarified that potential investors, whose type of business has not been deepened, are evaluating two municipalities on the border strip of Mexico such as: Ciudad Juárez in Chihuahua and Piedras Negras in Coahuila; for which he assured that the Government of the State of Coahuila will continue to work to materialize said investment.

Canadian investors interested in northern Coahuila
Those who have also expressed interest in the northern region of Coahuila and expanding their presence in Coahuila are investors from Canada and for this, on Wednesday February 22 and Thursday February 23 of the current year; Sandra Shaddick, Consul General of Canada in Monterrey, Nuevo León, was in this border strip.
In this regard, Bres Garza announced that during the aforementioned days they visited and explored the municipalities of Piedras Negras and Ciudad Acuña, respectively; be assisted by state government personnel; In addition to accompanying them in the activities already programmed in terms of migration.
“We have been working with Canada for over a year and four months, as we do with Germany, with the United States and other embassies; in the commercial area available to each of the Embassies and Consulates. The Canadian consul in Monterrey with headquarters for all of Coahuila, we found a person who was very open to the aspect of industrial development,” said Bres Garza.
