“In progress”, appointment of Carlos Joaquín as Mexican Ambassador to Canada: AMLO

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador explained on Tuesday that the appointment of the Carlos Joaquin as Mexico’s Ambassador to Canada “is underway” and “progress is being made”.

During his morning press conference, the President explained that the approval of the Canadian government so that the former Governor of Quintana RooCarlos Joaquín is Mexico’s ambassador to the North American country.

He explained that once this approval was obtained, the nomination will be sent to the Senate for its ratification.

“The procedures are already underway, approval is sought, which is the first thing, from the Government of Canada, then the nomination is presented for approval to the Senate and progress is underway,” he said.

On August 24 of this year, the head of the federal executive reported that Carlos Joaquín would cooperate with his government once I leave my position as governor of Quintana Roo.

However, it was not until September 13 that López Obrador announced that the former governor of Quintana Roo, Carlos Joaquin Gonzalez was going to be offered as new Mexican Ambassador to Canada after completing his term the same month.
