The United Auto Workers (UAW) union launched strikes Friday at these two GM and Stellantis plants, as well as at the Ford plant in Michigan, due to the lack of agreement to sign a new collective agreement. The strike currently affects around 12,500 workers from the three companies.

The union warned that if there was no agreement before midnight on September 22, the strike would spread to other factories of the three main American automakers.

The UAW also announced Wednesday that approximately 190 workers at ZF, which supplies parts to the Mercedes-Benz assembly plant in Alabama, have gone on strike to demand higher wages and benefits. health.
