Miguel Andrés Peña Peña, general manager of the aerodrome, confirmed to ACN that the security incident occurred at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, when the Boeing 737-800 MAX, which was monitoring flight SWG645 to Montreal, during the turning maneuver to the take-off position, it exceeded the established limits and caused the collapse of the main landing gear and the consequent immobilization of the aircraft.
The event led to the activation of the action plans established for these eventualities and no damage is to be deplored to the 180 passengers on board, nor on a preliminary basis to the plane, which is on the ramp of the Holguin airport until the investigation process by the competent authorities is completed. , he explained.
