Here’s what you need to know to emigrate to study or work

Next Friday October 21 and Saturday October 22, there will be conferences with experts who will talk about migration, entrepreneurship, work, business and studies, and especially for many, to know what scholarships are offered to study in Canada.

For his part, the Minister of Immigration of this country, Sean Fraser, announced the temporary lifting of the measure which limited students to working only 20 hours per week off campusin order to guarantee the necessary time for their studies.

“Canada needs to consider all options in order to have the skills and labor needed to fuel our growth. Immigration will be critical to filling our labor shortages,” said the Honorable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Without a doubt, before making such an important decision as migrating to another country, it is essential to gather information and find contacts that will help you in the process.

Under this premise, Conectando Canadá is born, a space for conversation on different areas, in which migration processes will be discussed, what requirements must be met to become a student and how to prepare for this challenge, as well as how to start a business in this country or how to find a job, among other aspects.

In the list of experts who will be part of the event are different academic institutions of the northern country, which will share valuable information for all those who have planned to study languages, technical careers, undergraduate or postgraduate.

The objective is to promote the different calls that institutions have for Colombians in the most demanded fields, which have programs starting from 15 million pesos, with scholarships of up to 40% in masters. In addition to this initiative to promote education in a global context, there are opportunities for entrepreneurs with business ideas who want to expand in this country.

Juan David Galeano, associate director of the University of Canada West, said that there are “four higher education programs and the scholarships available for these two years vary between 17 and 61%, depending on the program and can be applied by all people who have a Latin American or North American passport.

On another side, studying English in Canada is getting closer to Colombians, ILAC (English School) has created a call for tuition assistance of up to 30% in their face-to-face programs; similarly, institutions such as ILAC’s Georgian College are ratifying their interest in providing financial support of up to C$10,000 to event attendees (Connecting Canada) interested in applying for the business, management, project, marketing and human resources given the high demand in these areas.
