Diamond drilling aims to test a series of targets over a NS strike length of 3 kilometers.

Hemlo Explorers has started diamond drilling on the Idaho project, located in Ontario, Canada.

Brian Howlett, President and CEO of Hemlo Explorers, said they believe he has the potential to discover a significant mineralized system similar to the Marathon Pd-Cu project.

“We are excited to drill the west side of the Idaho project near a nearby deposit on virgin ground,” Howlett said.

Diamond drilling aims to test a series of targets over a NS strike length of 3 kilometers.

The targets were chosen to intersect the VTEM anomalies present at depth, which correspond to surface mineralization in Pt, Pd and Cu and intrusives of the Coldwell complex.

The targets also match a magnetic signature similar to eastern gabbros in the nearby Marathon Pd-Cu deposit within the Coldwell complex.

Phase 1 of the drill program focuses on various VTEM anomalies occurring at depth along a striking 3 km NS magnetic trend. Drilling is planned to intersect VTEM anomalies, many of which lie near the putative boundary between the Coldwell Complex to the west and Archean volcanoes to the east.

Surface exposure of these rocks showed chaotic and brecciated textures with visible sulphide mineralization. The samples taken showed anomalous values ​​of platinum, palladium, gold and copper. The diamond drill targets lie within a 3 kilometer NS trending zone that exhibits a magnetic signature analogous to eastern gabbros in the Marathon Pd-Cu deposit approximately 2 kilometers to the west.

The drill sites also coincide with favorable regional structural characteristics related to the magmatism of the Coldwell Complex. The targets are relatively shallow, with an average depth of around 180m.
