British Columbia is being sweltered by the latest heat wave that has sent temperatures in eastern and southern parts of the province to between 35 and 39 degrees and above.
Environment Canada has placed large swaths of British Columbia, stretching from Prince George and Tumbler Ridge in the north, through Quesnel and Williams Lake to the Kamloops, Okanagan and Kootenay regions, under a heat warning until early next week.

The warnings come after the Cranbrook, Kelowna, Nakusp, Port Hardy and Vernon areas broke high temperature records on Friday, with Kelowna reaching 38.6 degrees.
Lytton was the hottest place in Canada for part of the day on Saturday, with temperatures reaching 41 degrees in the afternoon.
