Zacatecas, Zac.- According to data provided by the Mexican Association for Support of Children with Cancer (AMANC), supported by 22 years of work, in Mexico, as in many other countries, after accidents, cancer is the second cause of death among minors.
“The main complication is late detection. This year we have had 19 deaths, which means they are arriving late.” Susan Cabral Bujdud, founder and president of AMANC Zacatecas, AC
In AMANC alone, there are currently 59 infants in care and a total of 237 who, although under review, have already been reintegrated into their communities. The alarming fact is that over the past year, 23 children have arrived for care and of these, 19 unfortunately arrived late.
Of the cases treated, 58% are men, while 42% are girls. Most are between 6 and 12 years old.
It is in this sense that today the call for the 19th AMANC Race was announced, under the theme “Hearts that run and warriors who fight”, which will take place, as is the custom every year, at the ‘Alameda Trinidad Garcia de la Cadena; run or sponsor a runner.
“We are waiting for you this Saturday, October 21 from 8 a.m. and invite your family and friends to help us achieve this goal which is a hope of life for our little ones.” Teresa Rosales, mother.
One of the goals is to gather resources and reach the goal that exceeds 758,483 pesos, which will be of great help in giving “hope of life” to children and their families who are fighting cancer .
“Today cancer is on the increase, it does not respect social classes, age or gender, you must be prepared and therefore go this Saturday with your families, your friends, with your classmates to run, sponsor or eat at the festival” Suzanne Cabral.
