General Motors de México and Chevrolet celebrate 12 years of alliance with Fundación CIMA this month, reiterating their commitment to raising awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer.
This year, GM is donating more than 200,000 pesos and will deliver a Chevrolet Groove SUV, a vehicle that will be used for the various activities of the foundation, including the development of a minute cinema that aims to make the voices of women heard in their fight. . against the disease and raise public awareness of the needs and rights of people with breast cancer.
Over the 12 years of the alliance, General Motors has donated more than 2,400,000.00 pesos and a total of 18 Chevrolet vehicles to CIMA, in support of the cause.
“For General Motors, especially in Mexico and the United States, it is essential to implement concrete actions that promote and raise awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer, since this disease is one of the leading causes of death among Mexican women,” said Paco Garza, president and CEO of General Motors of Mexico. “On this occasion, the professional racing driver, Majo Rodríguez, helped us to convey this message in a creative way on board a Corvette, so we hope it reaches more women.”
In addition, with part of the donation from General Motors, it was possible to contribute to the “Camino a la Vida” program, which, from 2020, facilitated the transfer of 2,533 women from their locality to CDMX to receive their cancer treatment at the National Cancer Institute or FUCAM.
General Motors de México will also participate in the 13th ”Huellas” race, organized by the CIMA Foundation, which will take place virtually throughout the month of October, which consists of reaching between 5 and 10 km in any activity sports at home or outdoors. As every year, GM illuminated the facilities of its factories located in the State of Mexico, San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato and Coahuila, as well as the GM tower, located in CDMX and its regional engineering center in Toluca.
