The PAN and PRD legislators, as well as the member of the plural group in the Senate, Emilio Álvarez Icaza, agreed that the The federal executive uses the spaces of Mexican diplomacy, to reward “loyalties” to himeven opposition politicians.

“That unfortunately the appointments have had a political connotation, completely forgetting the Mexican foreign service. We find profiles that also do not meet the minimum requirements of preparation or training,” said PAN deputy Mariana Gómez del Campo.

Like Senator Álvarez Icaza Longoria, they recalled that diplomatic appointments in countries with which Mexico has close bilateral relations have been entrusted to “friends” and “loyal” personalities to the Federal Executivewhether or not they have the ability or knowledge in the matter.

They referred to cases such as those of Nicaragua, Venezuela, Panama and other nations.

“But our sad reality is that embassies and consulates are used as a reward for blind surrender and loyalty to President López Obrador.”

“And why do we abuse it? Because embassies are used as a sign of submission and deliverance. These governors who deliver, receive the prize (…) they are not from the race, the pedagogy of the message of appointing former opposition governors is delivery and submission, ”he said.

PRD vice-coordinator in San Lázaro, Elizabeth Pérez, ruled that His bench would ‘never’ vote for those who betrayed their ‘ideals’ and to the political forces that brought them to power, as happened with Joaquín González, who governed Quintana Roo under the shelter of a PAN-PRD coalition.

The MP added that the the ex-president also left a “disaster” in his entity.
