Canadian doom metal band ethereal tomb have released their new single “victim mentalityon all streaming platforms. The song is part of “When the rivers run dry“, which will be released on September 8, 2023 via black throne productions.
The new album by ethereal tombtitled “When the rivers run dry“, offers a dark combination of doom with hints of death and hardcore. This powerful and moving album explores indigenous existence and resistance, recovery, ecocide, love, pain and suffering.
Along “When the rivers run dry“, ethereal tomb conveys a moving message. Wrapped in a dark storm of heartbreaking vocals and powerful distorted instruments, the album’s title track illustrates the intrinsic links between capitalism and colonialism. The greed of the oppressor and enforced ecocide not only affects Indigenous nations, but will eventually affect everyone. “victim mentalityunleashes a slow, dark groove that builds in intensity to a dark finale, while “Reclamation” brings an aggressive onslaught of falling rhythms and crashing cymbals. “When The Rivers Dry” ends with the haunting sounds of “The Sufferance of Mourning”. Its menacing rhythms and catchy melodies create a striking contrast.
About the Ethereal Grave
Based in Barrie/Toronto, Canada, ethereal grave been producing their doom sound with a DIY/community approach worthy of a hardcore band since 2021. The band released their self-titled debut album in May 2022, followed by their joint EP with Coward in November of the same year. ethereal grave is inspired by names like Earth Crisis, To have a heart, fugazi, The death And autopsy.
