Former Governor of Nuevo Leon Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, ‘el Bronco’, released from a private hospital and he is already at home in the municipality of García, where he must remain under house arrest for the criminal proceedings against him.
Due to this precautionary measure, the former president can only leave his property to attend legal or medical proceedings.
Rodríguez Calderón was interned in Apodaca prison last march 15after being charged with electoral crimes in the 2018 presidential election, in which he ran as an independent candidate.
A month and a half later, he was transferred to the University Hospital to undergo surgery due to complications related to his state of health.
On June 11, a supervising judge modified his precautionary measure and decided that he would continue his criminal proceedings in a shelter at home, in his ranch located in the municipality of García. Before, the former official was in preventive detention.
Rodríguez Calderón governed Nuevo León from 2015 to 2021. He won the position of independent candidate and under this same figure he aspired to the presidency of the Republic in 2018.
However, he is accused of diverting public resources to promote his presidential aspirations.
Various investigations indicate that human and material resources were used to collect the signatures that Rodríguez Calderón needed to promote his candidacy without a political party.
