Adam Joseph Copeland, says edge in WWE, he wrestled the last match of his current WWE contract last night. Edge faced Sheamus in the main event of Friday Night SmackDown and was victorious by the count of three after applying the spear.

The live show ended with Edge and Sheamus hugging in the center of the ring, but the scene did not end there. Edge took the mic and addressed the Toronto audience, assuring that it had been his last fight in front of this crowd, supposedly referring to the Canadian public. Edge pointed out that when he is much older, he will surely remember this moment.

“What I can say is that this is my last fight in front of you all. I don’t think I can make another full run to get back here for a fight.. I’m just being honest with you guys but don’t let that be a bad thing cause man what an experience you gave me. I will never forget him. Never. When I’m 84 and I won’t remember much, I’ll surely remember. THANKS”.

These words made a lot of noise on social networks, especially for Internet users who thought he had played the last fight of his career. Edge reportedly addressed the public in Canada, his native country, because he has always expressed his desire to retire “at home”. His surroundings made Edge convinced that SummerSlam would be held this year in Canada and that it would have been a good setting to say goodbye for good.

As for his future with WWE, it’s unclear when the current deal ends. Edge has filled out the agreed-upon bouts with the company, but it’s likely his contract will be extended one way or another. Many also indicated that Edge could appear next week at AEW All IN: London and reunite with Christian. It’s unlikely to happen, but in the world of professional wrestling, nothing is impossible.
