Sao Paulo.- Canadian rapper Drake, headliner of the third and final day of Lollapalooza Brazil, has canceled the concert that I had programmed for this same Sunday in the festivalas announced by the organizers a few hours before its presentation.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Drake is without members of his sound and production team essential to the realization of the show Lollapalooza, in Sao Paulo,” the festival organizers reported on their social networks.

They assured in a brief message that “Drake was thrilled to introduce himself to his fans in Brazil”, but that “unfortunately” what happened “is beyond their control”. They ended the announcement with an “apology”. Drake will be replaced by Skrillex, a well-known American music producer and one of the main promoters of the dubstep genre.

The Toronto-based singer-songwriter was the highlight of the final day of Lollapalooza Brazil, which kicked off Friday, with star performances from Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X, and wraps up this Sunday at Interlagos Autodrome. .

On March 17, Drake appeared in the Argentinian version of the festival and has already been criticized by the public and the press of this country, since his concert lasted only 40 minutes and also banned its live broadcast for the associated channels .

After learning of her decision to cancel her recital in Sao Paulo, social media has been filled with messages asking Rosalía, who is also performing this Sunday, to take to the main stage and bring the Brazilian festival to a close.

Lollapalooza Brazil also suffered this year with the loss of another of its headliners, Blink-182, albeit for medical reasons, with drummer Travis Barker having to undergo finger surgery.

Blink-182 was replaced by Twenty One Pilots, who had the nice gesture of performing on Saturday “All the small things”one of the great successes of the Californian group.

Lollapalooza originated in the United States and first expanded to Latin America with an edition in Chile, in 2011, and since then it has added Brazil and Argentina, as well as some European countries, to its tours. EFE
