Feminist collectives demand justice for Jhoana Leagues feminicide, a 24-year-old teacher who was beaten to death in her own home. Her husband is the prime suspect.

On social media they are demanding justice and posting a picture of the teacher’s husband, whom she married just in April this year, according to Jhoana’s own social media.

By means of a press release, the prosecution of New Leo indicated that he was already carrying out the corresponding investigation to locate the author or the authors of this crime.
“The Attorney General of the State of Nuevo León reports regarding the femicide of Jhoana Abigail Liga Jáuregui, which occurred yesterday, August 31, 2022, in Calle Arturo G. Maldonado number 130, Colonia El Molino in the municipality of Santa Catarina, that ‘at this moment the necessary acts of investigation are underway to locate and arrest the author or authors of this unfortunate death, as well as the people who collaborate in its concealment, in case this happens.
The Council of Nuevo León and the Citizen Security and Justice Observatory revealed that femicide was the crime that increased the most in the second quarter of this year, compared to the same period in 2021, to the point of increase by 230%, the highest rate in the last five years.
