The National Police arrested four people in Granada, three of them aged between 18 and 20, with criminal records, and the fourth a minor, as alleged perpetrators of a theft perpetrated by means of an escalation in an apartment rented to tourists, with four affected Canadian citizens.

Officers began the investigation when four Canadian citizens went to Grenada’s Foreign Tourist Assistance Service to report a theft from a house they had rented themselves while on vacation in the city.

When they returned to the rented property the previous afternoon, they found everything mixed up and detected the lack of money and belongings of everyone, for a total value of around 1,500 euros. Apparently the robbery was carried out by climbing the facade of the property, located in downtown Granada, as reported by the National Police in a statement on Thursday.

During the conversation, the agent who filed the complaint, a specialist in attention to foreign tourists, communicated with the victims in English, since they did not know Spanish. After inquiring about any important data that could lead to the location of the alleged robbers, as well as the recovery of stolen belongings and money, two of the complainants told him that they could locate the stolen electronic devices. in real time.

This agent communicated on this point and coordinated with other operational agents, attached to the Citizen Service Group, through the central 091, favoring the circulation of details and decision-making. Thanks to this coordination of the various units involved, all from the Provincial Citizen Security Brigade, a police patrol went to a ruined building where some of the stolen objects were geolocated.

That same morning and at this place, not only were these objects recovered, but four people were arrested as the alleged perpetrators of the reported theft. The effects recovered were returned to their legitimate owners and the result of the investigations carried out was communicated to the judicial authority, at whose disposal the two men were placed, since the women had been previously released, pending to be summoned to court.
