China announced on Friday that he would impose sanctions against the speaker of the House of Representatives of United States, Nancy Pelosiafter his visit to Taiwan this week, which sparked Beijing’s anger and extensive military exercises.

With this visit, Pelosi “has seriously interfered in China’s internal affairs and seriously undermines its sovereignty and territorial integrity”, for which “sanctions will be pronounced” against the legislator and “her close family”, indicated the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, without giving more details.

China has imposed sanctions on several US officials in recent years for acting, in its view, against its interests and for speaking out on the human rights concerning Hong Kong and the Xinjiang region (north-west), sometimes without specifying the nature of these measures.

In March, Beijing imposed visa restrictions on an unpublished list of US officials who allegedly “made up lies about human rights issues involving China”.

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Peter Navarro, who was a trade adviser to the former president donald trumpwere then prohibited from entering China or doing business with Chinese companies.
