Bitcoin mining company Bitfarms has announced the appointment of Geoffrey Morphy, until now COO of the company, as its new CEO with immediate effect, following the resignation of Emiliano Grodzki as CEO.
Likewise, Bitfarms co-founder Nicolás Bonta, until now executive chairman, will become chairman of the board.
“Since joining Bitfarms’ management team in 2020, Geoff has played a critical role in developing the management team, corporate structure, governance and controls, and relationships. with investors, as well as corporate operations and strategy,” Bonta said.
In this regard, he noted that in just over two years, Geoff Morphy helped transform Bitfarms from a purely Canadian company with five farms in Quebec to an international powerhouse listed on both the Nasdaq and the TSX with ten operating farms in four countries.
Grodzki and Bonta co-founded Bitfarms in Quebec (Canada) in 2017 and have been the company’s top executives ever since, leading the company’s strategic development and expansion into Argentina.
