Canadian wisdom in motion

Until this Sunday, the Baratza hall celebrates a new edition of the Dantzan Tzan Fest, an event focused on contemporary dance that started yesterday in Barrundia, and which will take place today and tomorrow on the stage of Plazuela Aldabe. Important and interesting is the participation of artists in this event, also of an international nature, an opportunity that the Dance Conservatory José Uruñuela wanted to take advantage of to have a master class by the young and exceptional Canadian dancer Pauline Gervais.

Thus, yesterday afternoon, the center brought together its third and fourth year Professional Education students to be able to share experiences, exercises, ideas and advice with the artist. Gervais deploys a wide range of proposals to develop students’ knowledge of contemporary dance. It is common for José Uruñuela to offer this type of privileged encounter with leading artists, a way of having other points of view and knowledge with which students nourish their development.

For about two hours, the Canadian dancer used the universal language of movement to capture the attention of those who shared with her an intense Friday afternoon. Of course, the passage through the capital Álava of the interpreter still has a lot to offer. Today, he will perform in front of the general public in Baratza, where he will perform three short pieces: Human Tripod, Herbert and Echo.

Remember that Pauline Gervais is a young promise of the scene. His visit to Gasteiz is part of the Euskadi-Québec collaboration, after the passage of several local companies through the Festival Quartiers Danses, whose performer and creator is an associate artist. Now she returns to visit, not only to perform, but also to share her knowledge with the new generations present at José Uruñuela.
