Canadian singer Celine Dion has an incurable disease

Canadian singer Celine Dion has suspended her European tour due to a recent health diagnosis. The announcement was made via her social media, where the artist mentioned that she had been diagnosed with a neurological condition called “rigid person syndrome”.

This syndrome is described by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke as muscle stiffness and increased sensitivity to stimuli such as noise, touch, and emotional distress, which can trigger repeated, painful muscle spasms.

For these reasons, for Celine Dion, performing on stage becomes more and more difficult, as does the use of her vocal cords. However, in this same video, the singer announces that she is already undergoing treatment.

The artist of Quebec origin mentions that this disorder affects approximately one person in a million. He mentioned that he had been dealing with issues of this nature for some time now, which is why postponing some shows on his tour was key to prioritizing his health.

So far, it’s known that Dion’s spring 2023 shows will be postponed to 2024, and eight summer 2023 shows will be canceled while she receives her treatment.
