Canadian mining companies don't pay taxes in Mexico: AMLO to Trudeau – El Sol de México

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that he did not know the details of the complaint made public by the American Petroleum Institute (API) of the United States for a possible violation of trade agreements, while revealing that during the interview he had with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, assured him that mining companies do not pay taxes in Mexico.

For this reason, he asked the Canadian Prime Minister to intercede so that they could catch up and stated that For now, he's ruling out a trip to Washington to launch the Mexico-United States-Canada (TMEC) trade deal.

He stressed that there is a campaign in foreign media, due to the measures taken to prevent looting in the country.

During a morning conference in Puebla, the president said that there was dissatisfaction on the part of foreign companies because “they were doing what they wanted”, and recalled that there were Spanish companies favorites like Iberdrola, Repsol and OHL.

He said he regrets what is happening in Spain, where nothing is reported.regarding the exoneration of Emeritus King Juan Carlos I for corrupt acts linked to the OHL company in a construction project in Quintana Roo.

“Spain must bear the shame of the fact that the king who abdicated command and crown had to be investigated and was exonerated by a special court.”

“So there is no justice for everyone, we talk about relationships of complicity and acts of corruption and nothing happens and yet everything that concerns us in the fight against corruption is called into question. ”

Likewise, López Obrador explained that public life is increasingly public, which is why he told Iberdrola and Repsol that he was open to dialogue to maintain negotiations on their contracts.
