San Juan, November 11 (EFE).- A delegation of Canadian lawmakers will travel to Guyana for a series of engagements, including meeting with the Prime Minister and seeking opportunities in the oil and gas sectors, among other areas.
More precisely, it will be a senator and three members of the Canadian Parliament who will travel to the South American country between this Monday and next Saturday to discuss, among other topics, how to finance the climate crisis, support for indigenous groups and digitalization. the House, according to official sources this Saturday.
“The objective of the brotherhood is to provide mutual support and capacity building, technically assist and facilitate knowledge exchange and enhance exercises between Canadian and Guyanese legislators,” the sources stressed.
The politicians’ visit will take place as part of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association’s (CPA) commitments to the country, as Canada and Guyana strengthen their bilateral relations.
The CPA was founded in 1911 with the aim of promoting parliamentary democracy and good governance focused on legislative practice and procedure.
The US officials, in addition to meeting with Guyana’s Prime Minister, Mark Phillips, will also have a gathering with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Manzoor Nadir, as well as other lawmakers, such as Opposition Leader, Aubrey Norton . .
