The activity of Canadian Grand Prix It didn’t start in the best way, even the drivers could do little or nothing as the first free practice had to be suspended due to television circuit failures on CCTV.

Nearly 20 minutes after the start of Free Practice 1 on the Gilles Villeneuve track, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) initially announced the first lap break, pending local authorities to resolve the issue. A few minutes later, the cancellation of this test was decided.

“The delay will be higher because the CCTV is not synchronized correctly and until the problem is solved, we cannot drive on the track. This system is a local install and they are still working to resolve the issue. The clock will continue to tick in FP1 and the session will not be extended as there should be 2.5 hours between FP1 and FP2. We are studying options to extend FP2,” the FIA ​​said.

Red Bull’s Mexican ‘Checo’ Pérez was one of the drivers who was able to complete at least three laps on the Canadian track. Later, a red flag appeared due to a problem with Pierre Gasly’s car.

Without this session being valid or having meant much to the drivers, Pérez Mendoza was in fourth place. Behind Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo), Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) and Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin).
