The La Mar de Músicas Festival in Cartagenawhich celebrates its 28th edition this year and will be held from July 14 to 22, will have Canada as guest country.
This was jointly announced this Friday the Mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, and the Ambassador of Canada to Spain, Wendy Drukierduring a meeting at the headquarters of the Canadian Embassy in Madrid, where they were accompanied by the Counselor for Tourism, Cristina Pérez and the Political Counselor of the Canadian Embassy, Christopher Berzins.
Canada is a multicultural countrya world reference for its support for culture in general and musical artists in particular, and which, according to the mayor of Cartagena, “made a pioneering decision in the world as early as 1971: the adoption of multiculturalism as a state policy” .
“More than 45 years later, cultural diversity is one of the characteristics of the North American country” but also of La Mar de Músicas, so “there could not be a better travel companion”, assured the mayor .
At the festival “there will be bands from Canada, even if they appear to be from Africa, Latin America or any other part of the world”, pointed out Arroyo, who commented that the full program of the festival will be announced at the end of March.
