Canadian police (RCMP) reported on Sunday that at least ten people died and 15 were injured in multiple stab wounds at various locations in the province of Saskatchewan in central Canada.
“At this stage of the investigation, we have located ten dead bodies in 13 places,” said a police spokeswoman at a press conference. In addition, he added that “several additional victims” were injured, including 15 who had to be transferred to hospitals.
According to the preliminary investigation, the officers consider “that some of the victims were attacked intentionally, while others were attacked randomly”.
Authorities are trying to locate two male suspects, Damien Sanderson, 31; and Myles Sanderson, 30. RCMP have issued a province-wide alert for two dangerous people, as they believe the two suspects are still armed.
“As the suspects are at large, we have also requested that the alert be extended to Manitoba and Alberta,” Canadian police said in a statement.
Officers advised citizens to take precautions. “If you are in the area, seek immediate shelter. Do not leave a safe place and be careful when letting others into your residence,” police warned. He also asked neighbors not to approach suspicious people or pick up individuals on highways.
