(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 07.13.2022).- On the second weekend of July, the Pope visited a Jesuit community in Rome. Although “exceptional” and private visits, mainly to Jesuit communities, have been a constant in this pontificate, this was reported by a video leaked by one of those present.
It was the Congolese Jesuit Jean-Pierre Bodjoko who, via his Twitter account, posted two videos of the end of the Pope’s visit to the community, more precisely the moment of farewell.
The video shows the Pope leaving to board the van that will take him back to the Vatican. Accompanied by the Jesuit Arturo Sosa, superior general of the Society of Jesus, he greets the other religious: he stops with one of them, makes a joke about his beard, and before getting into the car one of the present said aloud: “We are praying for your trip to Canada. To which the Pope replies: βIt is a journey that is said to be not easy. I think so”.

Although it is not clear to what facility Francis is referring (whether that of the trip or that of the general context of the trip), the fact is that he answers this way.
As we know, from July 24 to 30, the Pope will visit Canada. It is a journey rather claimed by the communities of the original peoples within the framework of a forgiveness that these peoples have asked the Church (with the complacency of the progressive government of Justin Trudeau). The church is accused of abuse and of having collaborated with political regimes that imposed programs of assimilation of the original peoples on society as it was then conceived. Accusations have been made specifically by Church-run residences, although several analyzes maintain inconsistencies on these accusations.
Recently, several Canadian delegations traveled to Rome to meet with the Pope. After publicizing the dates of the pope’s trip to Canada (which takes place in the same month the pope would visit South Sudan and Congo, although he only canceled those two African destinations for health reasons ), several indigenous peoples have publicly expressed their disagreement by the Pope’s itinerary of visits only to certain regions of the country. They demand that the pope visit more points.
