“Canada, ally of Querétaro”: Genaro Montes – Diario de Querétaro

Canada is an important partner for the state, since there are 96 factories of Canadian companies, and the entity is an important area to develop the automotive sector, said the Undersecretary for Economic Development of the State, Genaro Montes.

He pointed out that in 2022, Canada’s investment in the state was $120.9 million; compared to the period from 1999 to 2002, it was $2.4 million.

“Which means that Canada is a great strategic ally of Querétaro”, said.

He pointed out that the The automotive sector represents 34% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the State, and has developed with the aeronautical sector.

“Obviously, Bajío is an important area to develop the entire automotive sector”, affirmed.

He pointed out that these sectors have grown with the installation of assembly plants in the region, as well as Tier 1 and Tier 2 companies, and the supply chain they have developed.

“This comes to generate significant development for the sector to continue to provide technology, labor and inputs, and these applications to the automotive plant,” stress.

During the start of operations of the Samuel company, Son & CO emphasized that companies can find a long term relationship in the state as it seeks to have an ecosystem for doing business.

“What is very important is that they will find all the human capital, the training of capacities, that they can find in Querétaro to continue to promote a very important issue which is relocation”, underline.
