Australia against Croatia on Friday and Italy against Canada on Saturday, will be the semi-finals of the Davis Cup that take place in Malaga, where this Wednesday the quarter-finals were concluded. Australia, who eliminated the Netherlands, are in contention for their 29th title. He hadn’t reached the semifinals since 2017 and he hadn’t won the Salad Bowl since 2003.
Croatia, Davis’ world-ranking leader, are the current runners-up and were winners in 2018, last year with the previous alternate home and away format. He has two titles. Italy have only lifted one bowl, in 1976, and since 2014 they have not made the semi-finals. Canada was the last team to qualify, beating Germany 2-1. He is the only one who has never won the competition.
