Auger Aliassime extends his streak; Korda suffers another disappointment

Sports Writing, Oct. 23 (EFE).- Canadian Felix Auger Aliassime is accelerating towards the ATP Finals after adding his second consecutive title after beating American Sebastian Korda in Antwerp, who again lost a final after the Open de Gijon last week.

Toni Nadal’s pupil beat Korda 6-3, 6-4 in 83 minutes. On Monday, he will appear ninth in the ATP rankings, a position in the top eight entering the Turin Masters Cup.

Antwerp is the third trophy in the career of Felix Auger Aliassime who had previously obtained those of Rotterdam and a week ago, of Florence. The Canadian put aside his status as a loser in the final, which had fallen in nine games for a title until he could release his record.

Sebastian Korda is the other side of the coin. Like a week ago in Gijón, he organized a great tournament. The Florida tennis player, who beat Auger Aliassime at Estoril this season, has won seven times in his last nine matches. He played in two consecutive finals but lost both. He fell in Gijón against Andrey Rublev. Now facing Auger Aliassime. He fails to develop his story. Parma, in 2021 is, to date, his last trophy.
