Sports Writing, October 30 (EFE).- The Canadian Felix Auger Aliassime extended his great form in this part of the season and after beating the Dane Holger Rune 6-3 and 7-5 he won the Basel tournament, the third of the last three weeks after those of Antwerp and Florence.
Thirteen wins in a row have led Toni Nadal’s pupil who is aiming for the WTA final. On Monday, he will appear in eighth place in the world rankings.
The Canadian also won another of the players having the best time. The young Dane entered the final after nine consecutive victories that led to his second title in Stockholm last Sunday after that of Munich, also in 2022.
But there was no color in the first duel between the two. The Canadian, who eliminated world number one Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals, was superior. He never lost his serve and it earned him a break in each set to seal the victory. In the first, he broke in the fourth game.
