Andrés Manuel López Obrador, President of Mexico, announced that he will carry out a working tour in some South American countries as Chile, Colombia and maybe Argentina. In addition to a visit to the Nation of the Maple Leaf Flag: Canada.
This is an international tour that plans to start on September 11th, meet his Chilean counterpart, Gabriel Boric, as part of the 50th anniversary of the coup against Salvador Allende.
“We have fraternal relations with Chile. President Bori invited me,” he said during his traditional morning conference which he hosted this morning from the National Palace.
Without revealing the exact date, the Mexican president announced that before setting foot on Chilean soil, he will land in Colombia, where Gustavo Petro is president.
“We have very good relations with all the governments of the world. We have good diplomats, ambassadors, consuls, women, men from the foreign service. And I maintain that the best foreign policy is domestic policy, that you cannot be a light in the street and darkness in your home. If we are good here, they will all respect us”.
During his visit to the North American country of Canada, the Chief Executive said that in his plans he is going in November, for the Summit of Leaders of North America. “I’m going to be in Canada in November, which will be the North American Summit.”
Regarding his possible trip to Argentina, a country chaired by Alberto Fernández and which has pointed out that he lives “in debt”, the president mentioned that he planned to visit him, because he assured that Fernández was “his friend”.
He pointed out that the Argentine people are in a financial crisis. In this way, he announced that he would sign a letter with other leaders, to ask Joe Biden to support Argentina in this economic crisis.
The union between certain presidents, as is the case with Alberto Fernandez and AMLO It’s been evident for a few months, only in December last year his Argentinian counterpart thanked him for his support in winning the World Cup in Qatar.
And it is that López Obrador has highlighted his desire for the team of the albiceleste team to succeed and win the cup.
“I would like him to win the final against France for his people, who have suffered so much and who have been victims of bad right-wing governments,” López Obrador said in a video he shared on his social media.
For his part, Colombian President Gustavo Petro Urrego also supported him and applauded the marches that took place in the South American country in favor of Petro.
On the question of mobilizations, the Mexican president recently declared that he would continue his support and welcomed Gustav Petro.
“I support him because he is a great president. Gustavo Petro, a great president of Colombia, brother of Mexico,” he said June 9 during his morning conference.
Regarding the Colombian government, he insisted that since taking office in 2022, the South American country has had a great leader.
“It is a blessing for Colombia that a president like Gustavo has arrived, after many years of suffering from bad governments,” said the politician from Tabasco.
