Air Canada will increase the number of flights departing from Cancun International Airport (CUN). This new implementation will be carried out due to the increase in demand expected in the last months of this 2022.
The airline will start operating five new routes from the end of October and they will remain available until early 2023. Since it is during this season that Canadians seek to spend a warm winter on the pleasant and warm beaches of the south from Mexico.
And although Air Canada has fixed routes to Cancún from the most important cities in the country, it will be this month that the following new routes will start operating:
- Calgary (YYC) from October 9 with four weekly flights
- Edmonton (YEG) from October 30 with two weekly flights
- Halifax (YHZ) from December 5 with two weekly flights
- Ottawa (YOW) from November 5 with four weekly flights
- Winnipeg (YWG) from October 1 with two weekly flights
Finally, the most popular locations in Canada will increase the number of weekly flights to meet demand. This is the case of Toronto and Montreal, which will go from 10 flights per week to two daily flights.
For its part, Quebec will go from one flight per week to three per week and Vancouver will have four flights per week.
The Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council reported that in the first half of 2022, 700,000 Canadians arrived in Cancún. Therefore, an increase of up to 10% in demand is expected in the coming months.
