Air Canada: first Canadian airline to open the Toronto-Monterrey route

Air Canada, in conjunction with the Secretary of Tourism of Nuevo León and the Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte (OMA), announced the start of operations at Monterrey Airport, becoming the only airline in Canada to offer direct flights between both destinations. Starting October 29, 2023, travelers will be able to take advantage of a regular route that will connect Monterrey to Toronto, one of Canada’s main economic and cultural centres.

“This new route represents an important milestone for Air Canada, Monterrey Airport and Nuevo León, as it not only establishes a direct link between Monterrey and Toronto, but also strengthens trade and tourism links between Mexico and Canada. The city of Monterrey, recognized as the second largest metropolis in Mexico, is an ever-growing business hub that is home to corporate headquarters and key business interests,” said Maricarmen Martínez Villarreal, Tourism Secretary of Nuevo León.

Flights between Monterrey and Toronto will be operated with modern Airbus A220s, providing passengers with a comfortable and safe flight experience. Air Canada prides itself on providing high quality service, with personalized attention and a wide range of options to meet travellers’ needs.
