From August 29 to September 2, the “Tree Week” was carried out and the Municipality of General Ramírez decided to organize a series of activities with the main purpose of remembering the importance of trees for well-being of the planet and to promote their conservation. . .

The first activity took place at the waste treatment plant: the inauguration of the municipal native tree nursery, which is the result of collaborative work between the inhabitants of the community, in particular the Eco Ramírez group, and the municipality. This project was presented, approved and partly financed by the Ministry of the Environment of the province, within the framework of the program “More Hands to the Environment”. The nursery has more than 400 species, which will be distributed throughout the city. Members of the Eco Urbano de Paraná Foundation and the Eco Gualeguaychú Cooperative were also present at the inauguration.

“I want to highlight the work of the Eco Ramírez group of volunteers, because they have been fundamental actors throughout the process, they have germinated and given several trees, they have dedicated their time and effort, but above all they have shown of a great commitment as citizens in the protection of the environment. We believe that all these actions for the care and preservation of our natural resources are fundamental, because together we can build a more sustainable Ramírez”, said Carlos Troncoso, Community Relations Secretary.

The municipality financed the construction of this square. It is essential to have a supply of our own trees, which today have become central agents in mitigating and adapting to the effects of the climate crisis on our communities, in turn they are considered as public servants for which we do not pay taxes and they provide us with many benefits such as the production of oxygen, the retention of rainwater, they are the habitat of various species of birds, they absorb chemical substances in suspension and many others “.

other actions

The construction of this is in addition to other actions being developed within the framework of the SustentaR program, such as the census of urban trees which makes it possible to identify and know the state of the trees, as well as the agreement signed by the Municipality with the Faculty of Agronomy of the UNER.

During the day, the authorities of ConarCoop, Fecootra and INAES officially handed over a baler to the “Creando Valores” Recyclers’ Cooperative. It will compact up to 90% of the volume of waste.

In addition, you will be able to optimize the workspace, save energy, time and money, reduce the carbon footprint and generate a cleaner workplace. This baler (Galvid SRL brand) can work metal, plastic and cardboard, producing bales of around 400 kilos.

In this sense, the municipal president, Gustavo Vergara, clarified that “respect for the environment is one of the axes of management and this is reflected in the change that the old landfill is undergoing. This press is a joint effort between the municipal, provincial and national state. This virtuous interaction generates very good results. Beyond political or partisan issues, what must unite us are the things we have in common and concern for the environment outweighs any difference, we must focus on this and put the greatest effort “.

more than a bottle

The so-called “love bottles” have countless benefits, but the main purpose is to take care of the environment. With these bottles, plastic lumber is produced, which can be used to build benches, tables, compost bins, children’s games and baskets, among other products. It is for this reason that the Secretariat of Community Relations has summoned the primary schools of the city to make them participate in the first “Bottles of Love” contest.

Last Tuesday, in the premises of the House of Culture, the award ceremony took place, in which the sixth years of the educational institutions of Ramírez took part. First place went to School 146 “Jesús de Nazareth”, which managed to collect 218,100 kilos. From second to sixth place were School 31 “Leopoldo Herrera” (178.85 kg), School 57 “Linares Cardozo” (160,300 kg), School 153 “Madre de Jesús” (84,400 kg), School 13 “Blanco Encalada” (35,900 kg) and School 5 “Alborada” (31,500 kg). Beyond the main prize, which was a Canadian bench built with plastic lumber, all classes received gifts ranging from compost bins to trees, seedlings and recyclable bags.

That same day, there was a training on trees dictated by UNER at the Deliberative Council. In addition, a mural alluding to the three Rs (recycle, reduce and reuse) designed by Florencia Kildau de Ramirez was inaugurated and finally native trees were planted in front of School No. 4 “Francisco Ramírez”, an activity where members were also present. .of the Eco Ramírez group.
