Through its social networks, the Antioquia Police reported the rescue of a puma concolor puppy, which was in captivity in Guatapé, a municipality located in the eastern subregion of the Antioquia Department.
The operation, carried out in coordination with the Protection Police and Special Services, the Gelma group of the Attorney General's Office and the Autonomous Regional Corporation of the Black and Nare River Basins, was carried out after some complaints filed for possession of animals wild in captivity.
According to the regional media “Teleantioquia”, the case became topical on social networks, after An Antiochian DJ released videos showing him with a mountain lion, a macaw and two white-faced monkeys. In the case of the mammal, it wore clothes and shared them with other animals.

“There is no reason for DJ to have a baby puma in captivity, much less in contact with domestic animals like dogs that can transmit diseases. In addition, they put clothes and accessories on it that have nothing to do with the natural behaviors of the animal,” commented to EL TIEMPO Andrés Felipe García-Londoño, biologist specializing in ethology and sustainable tourism, once the complaint made public.
The publications of Metrioz Withz, regarding the identification of the woman, generated a wave of indignation among citizens and the support of the competent authorities was quickly requested to open an investigation.
The regional media cited above indicated that the species did not belong to the DJ, as initially thought, but to a Canadian citizen living in Guatapé.

At the time of the search, authorities found no wildlife in the house or any trace of the owner, but they did find evidence that led to the subsequent recovery of the mountain lion. “Cornare confirmed that the man accused of being in possession of the wildlife specimens contacted the competent authority to proceed with the voluntary surrender of them,” notes 'DiariOriente'.
