10 Immigration Programs to Work and Live in Canada in 2022

The government of Canada announced that in 2021 he was awarded the the greatest number of immigrants throughout its history. This year, Justin Trudeau’s administration met its goal of granting permanent residency to 401,000 people.

2) Work in the field with SAWP

The Mexican government has the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (PTAT) which allows its citizens work temporarily in Canada.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare is the only one that recruits, selects and assigns workers in the SAWP. Work stays last up to eight months, but registration is renewable. You can work in fields where fruits, vegetables, tobacco are grown or in greenhouses.

6) Start-up visa

To apply for the StartUp Visa, your company or business must obtain support from one or more of the designated bodies:

3) Business incubators

These organizations give their agreement to invest or support these foreign companies. Everyone has their own admissions and assessment process.

7) Atlantic Immigration Program

Canada formalized the launch of the new Atlantic Immigration Program. According to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico, this program is a pathway to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers and international graduates who wish to work and live in one of the four provinces of Atlantic Canada mentioned above.

Applications begin on March 6, 2022.

Candidates who meet the requirements can start submitting applications for permanent residence under the new program starting March 6, 2022.

1) You must receive a job offer from a designated employer within the Atlantic Canada to participate in the program. Find employers in this link.

2) Recent graduates from a recognized Atlantic Canadian post-secondary institution or skilled workers may participate.

3) You can be to live abroad or already be in Canada as a temporary resident.

4) You must take a language test and submit the results with your application.

5) If you studied outside of Canada, you need an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report.

6) When you arrive in Canada, you will need enough money to support you and your family.

7) If you requested the permanent residence Through the Atlantic Immigration Program, you may be eligible for a one-year work permit. “The work permit allows you to work while your application for permanent residence is being processed,” they note on their website.

8) Skilled workers selected by Quebec

The province of Quebec selects its own skilled workers. Generally, this requires additional requirements such as 100% fluency in French.

9) Family reunification

People who are already Canadian citizens can sponsor their relatives (living abroad) to obtain permanent residence in Canada. The category includes spouses, children (under 21), parents and grandparents.

10) International experience in Canada
